FrogFen Privacy Policy

Summary

In the current version of FrogFen:

• most gameplay data is stored locally on your device;
• FrogFen does not require account creation or login;
• FrogFen uses Apple for in-app subscription billing;
• FrogFen sends limited pseudonymous gameplay data to FrogFen-operated services for Daily Results comparisons when that feature is used;
• FrogFen downloads game content, embeddings, and audio from FrogFen-hosted infrastructure; and
• FrogFen does not currently include third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in the mobile app.

Information We Collect

1. Information stored locally on your device

FrogFen stores app data locally on your device so the game can function properly and preserve your progress and preferences. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:

• current and saved game state;
• completed game history and statistics;
• played-word history and related counters;
• badge progress, badge history, and unlock state;
• app settings and audio preferences;
• cached daily puzzle data;
• cached embeddings metadata;
• downloaded and cached music files and music playback state; and
• a pseudonymous local identifier used for Daily Results features.

This data is generally stored on your device using local app storage and app-specific file storage.

2. Information sent to FrogFen-operated services

When Daily Results features are enabled and used, FrogFen may send limited gameplay-related information to FrogFen-operated backend services so the app can submit and display comparative Daily Results information. This may include:

• daily puzzle identifier;
• a pseudonymous player identifier generated by the app;
• your score;
• your completion timestamp;
• app version information; and
• limited request metadata ordinarily transmitted over the internet, such as IP address, device or browser request headers, and service logs.

FrogFen may also request data from FrogFen-operated infrastructure to download daily puzzle content, embeddings files used by game features, audio manifests and music assets, and Daily Results comparison views. These requests may involve standard server-side logs maintained by hosting or infrastructure providers.

3. Subscription and purchase information

FrogFen offers subscription-based access to certain game modes. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit, not by FrogFen directly.

Apple may provide FrogFen with limited purchase and entitlement information needed to determine whether you have an active subscription, restore prior purchases, display available subscription pricing and offers, and unlock or manage subscription-based access in the app. FrogFen does not receive your full payment card details from Apple.

4. Support communications

If you contact FrogFen by email or otherwise communicate with us, we may receive and retain the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, the contents of your message, screenshots or attachments you send us, and any device, version, bug, or troubleshooting details you choose to share.

5. User-initiated clipboard actions

FrogFen includes user-initiated copy and share features. When you choose to copy score or results text, the selected text may be placed on your device clipboard. FrogFen does not receive your clipboard contents merely because you use that feature, unless you separately send that information to us.

Information We Do Not Intend To Collect Through The Current App

In the current version of the FrogFen mobile app, FrogFen does not intentionally collect through the app:

• account registration information, because the app does not currently use account creation or login;
• precise location data;
• contacts, address book data, calendars, or call logs;
• photos, camera content, or microphone recordings;
• health or fitness data;
• advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking;
• third-party in-app advertising data; or
• personal information for third-party marketing.

If FrogFen later adds new data practices or features that materially change this Privacy Policy, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

How We Use Information

FrogFen may use information described in this Privacy Policy to:

• operate, maintain, and improve the app;
• save your game state, preferences, and local progress;
• provide gameplay, scoring, badges, audio, Daily Challenge, and Endless functionality;
• provide Daily Results submission and comparison features;
• provide subscription access, restore purchases, and manage entitlements;
• troubleshoot bugs, errors, and support requests;
• protect the security and integrity of the app and its services;
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms, policies, and rights; and
• communicate with you if you contact us.

How We Share Information

FrogFen does not sell your personal information and does not use the current mobile app for third-party behavioral advertising or cross-app tracking.

FrogFen may share information in the following circumstances:

1. Service providers and infrastructure providers

FrogFen uses service providers and technical infrastructure to host, deliver, and support app functionality. These may include:

• Apple, for App Store distribution, subscriptions, purchases, and related account or subscription management;
• Cloudflare-hosted infrastructure and related services used for content delivery, storage, Workers, and Daily Results backend functionality; and
• email or operational service providers used to receive and respond to support requests.

These parties may process information on FrogFen's behalf to provide their services.

2. Legal and safety reasons

FrogFen may disclose information if we believe doing so is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or lawful request; protect the rights, property, or safety of FrogFen, users, or others; investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our policies; or enforce our agreements and legal rights.

3. Business transfers

If FrogFen is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, asset sale, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

Legal Bases For Processing

If and to the extent applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal data, FrogFen generally relies on one or more of the following:

• performance of a contract or steps taken at your request, such as providing the app's features and subscription functionality;
• legitimate interests, such as operating, securing, improving, and supporting FrogFen;
• your consent, where applicable; and
• compliance with legal obligations.

Data Retention

FrogFen generally retains information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide features, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.

More specifically:

• local gameplay data stored on your device generally remains there until you delete it, reset local data, uninstall the app, or your device removes cached data;
• downloaded and cached content may remain on your device until deleted or overwritten;
• support communications may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond to you, keep records, and improve support; and
• Daily Results backend data may be retained as reasonably necessary to operate comparison features, maintain service integrity, and support troubleshooting or compliance.

Your Choices And Controls

1. Reset local app data

FrogFen includes an in-app reset option in Settings that can clear locally stored FrogFen data on your device, including saves, stats, badges, downloaded music, and local caches.

2. Uninstall the app

Uninstalling FrogFen will generally remove app data stored within the app's sandbox on your device, although some device or platform backups may persist depending on your platform settings.

3. Manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple account subscription settings.

4. Contact FrogFen

If you contact FrogFen, you may request help, ask questions about privacy, or request deletion of information FrogFen controls, subject to applicable law and practical limitations.

Because FrogFen does not currently use account-based profiles for gameplay, and because certain Daily Results records are associated only with a pseudonymous app-generated identifier, FrogFen may not always be able to identify or locate a specific record unless you provide enough information for us to do so.

5. Privacy rights under applicable law

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable law to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, objection to, or portability of certain personal information, or to appeal a decision regarding such a request.

To exercise such rights, contact FrogFen using the contact details below. We may need to verify your request and may limit our response where permitted by law.

International Data Transfers

FrogFen and its service providers may process or store information in jurisdictions other than your own. By using FrogFen, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection rules than your jurisdiction.

Where required, FrogFen will rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Data Security

FrogFen uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and FrogFen cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

FrogFen is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under the age at which parental consent is required under applicable law. FrogFen is not currently intended for Apple's Kids Category.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to FrogFen in a way that should not have occurred, contact us and we will review the request.

If FrogFen is later offered in a category or manner that triggers additional children's privacy requirements, this Privacy Policy may be updated accordingly.

External Links And Third-Party Services

FrogFen may contain links or deep links to third-party services, including Apple subscription management, the App Store, social media pages, and external websites. FrogFen is not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and you should review their privacy policies separately.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

FrogFen may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice by updating the date above, posting the updated policy, or using other appropriate means.
